Welcome to our Local School Board
In the Diocese of Sheffield’s Academies Trust, ultimate accountability and governance lies with our trust board.
Our Local School Board are valued partners in the trust’s mission and are our local feet on the ground.
At our school, DSAT holds ultimate statutory accountability, while the Local School Board acts as its local partner, providing essential support and oversight on the ground. Together, they collaborate closely to ensure that St Oswald's maintains the highest possible standards and continuously strives for improvement.
For a detailed overview of the roles and responsibilities of both DSAT and the Local School Board, please refer to the Scheme of Delegation available on the DSAT website.

Meet our Local School Board Members:
Our local school board members work closely with Mrs S Patton (Executive Headteacher) and Mrs H Lambert (Head of School).
Mrs A Navas (Chair)
Hello,
My name is Alison Navas and I am really proud to be part of the LSB at St Oswald’s. I live in Finningley village and know how valuable it is to the whole community to have a school that delivers the highest standards education for the children and families that it serves.
I was previously head teacher at another Church of England primary school in Doncaster and am absolutely passionate about working with children, most particularly within a church school setting. The most rewarding aspect of my roles as both a teacher and a school board member is to see children thrive academically, socially and spiritually within a happy, caring and compassionate learning community.
St Oswald’s is a school that is very close to my heart. I was a teacher at the school for eight very happy years before I moved on to deputy headship and headship and I still love it when parents and past pupils stop me for a chat in the village. It is lovely to hear their news and see the adults that those children have become!
I look forward to continuing to work with Mrs Patton and the whole school team as St Oswald’s .
Rev N Redeyoff
I’m the Rector of Holy Trinity and St Oswald’s Church, and being a Local School Board Member forms part of my role in the Parish. However, I’ve been involved voluntarily with governing bodies for the past 20 years and love working together with our school. I’m married and have three grown up children, and when I’m not on ‘vicar’ duties I play the keyboard and drums (not together), and enjoy watching Formula 1.
Mrs A Collins (Parent)
My name is Anne-Marie Collins and I am delighted to be part of the St Oswald’s LSB as a Parent Member. I have had a progressive 16-year teaching career which culminated in a head of school position of a Doncaster infant school in 2021. In my current role as a Reading Consultant for Ruth Miskin (Read Write Inc) I now get the opportunity to work across many schools supporting teaching teams with the development of early reading, which I believe is the single most important thing a child will learn at school.
Through my working experience I have seen first-hand how parents can positively impact and strengthen the relationship between a parent community and a school working collaboratively to ensure young children regardless of their background and circumstance receive a high-quality education and are provided with the best start in life.
I regard being part of the LSB at St Oswalds as a privilege and believe that the combination of my professional background and genuine care of our local children and school will enable me to whole heartedly support St Oswald’s to the best of my ability.
