Modeshift STARS is the national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel.

The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people.

Here at St Oswald's we are committed to promoting active travel to and from our school and hope that the children who attend our school and their parents/carers will support us in our ambition to improve the health and well-being of children and young people through active travel.

Our school has been awarded the Silver Award in July 2021 for our commitment to sustainable and active travel, which is a fantastic achievement!

We aim to continue to improve and a school and our aim is to improve upon this and work towards our Gold Award in subsequent years.

Great news! We have successfully achieved our PLATINUM Modeshift Stars Award. This is linked to all of our work around active travel and walk to school weeks. It also includes participation in bike skills and events run throughout the year. A huge thank you to all our parents, pupils and staff who have helped us achieve this award.
