This year we are running a cross-curricular Science week project inspired by the British Science Week pack linking natural pigments with their use by our ancestors in making paint!
We are investigating which fruits and vegetables might make the best paints and testing them in paintings inspired by Aboriginal artwork. year 3 had experience of this from their History work surrounding Native Americans and their use of the buffalo and natural materials in their lifestyle, and were keen to learn about the Aboriginal art work and how the pigments were gathered to make their paint to see if it was similar to the methods used by the Native Americans.
